Jackie & Evan’s Wedding

Jackie and Evans’ love story began in Tampa, Florida while Jackie was in college and Evans attended medical school.

Shortly after graduation, Evans took a job in Dallas, Texas and they both moved half way across the country, away from their families and friends. This time for them was hard but also helped their relationship grow even stronger and most importantly, made them realize they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.

Shortly after Jackie and Evans were engaged, they decided that Florida was their true home and they wanted to come back to celebrate their wedding.

They had a few key aspects that were very important to them- a wedding that had an elegant tone but was also casual and of course, fun! Both Jackie and Evans love the outdoors and wanted part of their day to be enjoyed in the Florida sunshine. Reunion offered a stunning outdoor ceremony location in Linear Park and the Grande Falls Pavilion for the reception. The Pavilion is a wonderful glass enclosed space presenting scenic views with the comfort of a weather protected and climate controlled environment.

Mother Nature decided not to fully cooperate for Jackie and Evans and their ceremony was moved indoors- it went off without a hitch and was absolutely beautiful. Plus, the rain and unique stormy skies left room for some of the most memorable pictures from the entire evening.

The Grande Falls Pavilion provided a wonderful shelter from the rain and the new the couple was able to enjoy their first few married hours watching the sunset and dancing the night away with their closest family and friends.

Kalyn & Bryan’s Wedding

Bryan and Kalyn have known each other since they were nine years old! They met in their fourth grade class. In fifth grade they sat back to back in class the whole year and became good friends. In middle school Bryan and Kalyn were completely smitten with each other and all of their peers would constantly say “you two are going to get married!” Little did they know…it would come true!

They split in high school after going to two different schools but stayed in touch every now and then. Their senior year, they started to become close again we got back together! They have been inseparable ever since.

Their wedding inspiration was all about under the sea! They have always loved “The Little Mermaid” and Bryan has always been fascinated by what lies under the sea. It was something they both loved and something fun for their guests to experience, it was a perfect fit! All of the decorations and favors were made by Kalyn and the ceremony arch was made by her father, which shadowed Kalyn’s new last name on the floor.

Anna & Houston’s Wedding

Houston and Anna met in college at Samford University, in Birmingham, Alabama through Anna’s brother Michael!  Towards the end of Anna’s Freshman year, Houston and Anna started to become interested in one another. They talked over the summer but it wasn’t until the beginning of Anna’s sophomore and Houston’s senior year that Houston asked Michael’s permission to take her on their first date. Being the protective big brother, Michael responded, “Of course I’d love for you to take her out, but if you don’t think it’s going to be anything serious I’d rather you not take her out the first time. But you’re one of my best friends and I’d love for you to take her out!” That weekend they had their first date and have been together ever since.

Since Houston was two years older than Anna, he moved back to Atlanta when he graduated. They continued their relationship long distance but made it a priority to see each other as often as possible. Long distance was hard but it made them fall even more in love with each other.  In April of Anna’s Senior year, Houston proposed and then Anna moved to Atlanta after graduation.  Houston and Anna have fun doing anything as long as they are together. Their goofy personalities were made for each other!

Their wedding inspiration came from a variety of places. Houston and Anna knew they wanted it to be a formal, southern wedding that also reflected their fun personalities. They pulled ideas from weddings of their close friends. Their florist, Lee James, came up with the vision for the ceremony at First Baptist Orlando’s Henry Chapel. Brandee Gaar, their wedding planner, threw a Knot Party at Reunion Resort and they were able to use many elements they loved from that event toward their own reception. Their mothers contributed countless suggestions and it all came together to create the the most beautiful wedding their could have ever imagined.

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted with a glass of champagne and the ladies from Perfect Wedding Guide at Registration in the lobby. Blush by Brandee Gaar will also be on site to talk with you about their coordinating and full plan services.  And of course, Reunion’s catering staff will also be there to talk with you about each location, the resort’s expansive services, and to provide you with tasty samplings from our culinary team. Francesca & Matthew’s Wedding

Frankie and Matt first met while attending classes in college in Ft. Myers, Florida. Though they had noticed each other in class it wasn’t until they began to spend time out of school that they realized they had something special. Both now Certified Public Accountants, they wanted to make their wedding day not only memorable for themselves but for their guests as well. They decided on Reunion for their big day as the Resort provided the bride the elegance she desired and the groom the opportunity to enjoy both of his passions, his bride and golf.

The Bride looked spectacular in her wedding gown with a beaded bodice and matching tiara. Her bridesmaids wore the signature purple color with matching teardrop earrings and side swept up-dos. The men sported classic black tuxedos and the groom stood out with a white vest and bowtie.

The bride and groom’s vision for the evening was “simple elegance”. They achieved this by choosing design and décor that complimented the existing ambiance. At the ceremony in Linear Park, Frankie and Matt decided upon a white colonnade with fresh flowers. Aisle markers in the same signature colors and custom programs added those special details.

Cocktail Hour left nothing to be desired. With much of the family coming from New York, it was important to Frankie and Matt to include some of “home” for them by offering a fabulous cocktail hour. In addition to the passed hors d’oeuvres offered, stations to include pasta, sliders and shrimp were also on the menu.

At the reception, the elegance continued with gorgeous table settings in the Grande Ballroom. Purple linen paired with silver chaivari chairs, glass beaded chargers and silver napkins complimented the beautiful centerpieces perfectly. As a special touch, beaded napkin rings were used to make the napkins settings in to bows. Frankie and Matt included many special touches to include a photo booth, barista station and even the guests escort cards presented in Mikasa frames as their favors.

Exquisite Receptions in the Grande Ballroom

With soft hues of blues and champagnes, the Grande Ballroom is a favorite among our wedding couples. Boasting 8,000 square feet, this space can be tailored to accommodate weddings as intimate as 20 guests or as large as 300.

There are a few hidden gems about this space that make it extra amazing! The ballroom is surrounded by a gorgeous foyer that mirrors the décor of the ballroom; a perfect location for a private cocktail hour. The existing furniture pieces in the foyer provide an elegant addition and can be used as beautiful displays for your place cards and guest book.

There are two patio areas as well as restrooms located right outside the ballroom so guests don’t need to travel far from the celebration. A small room located right next to the ballroom is quickly transformed into a bride and groom room. This space offers a quiet sanctuary for the couple to relax, refresh and try some of the delicious hors d’ oeuvres their guests have been enjoying before making the big entrance into the reception.

The subtle hues of the ballroom mean no competition with the colors or design style you choose for your celebration. Some brides embrace the existing style and enhance it with personal design touches while others completely transform the space with a little help from lighting and linen.

Which ever style you choose for your reception, the Grande Ballroom will provide  an exquisite backdrop for your uniquely personal celebration!

Reunion’s Wedding of the Year Contest Launch Event

This past Tuesday we hosted a special VIP event to launch our 2014 Reunion Wedding of the Year Contest! With the help of some great vendors we partner with regularly, we pulled together a spectacular evening. When our guests entered the room they were blown away by the breathtaking centerpiece from Lee James Floral.  The candlelight danced off the silver and white arrangements flowing down the center of the table. Soundwave Entertainment’s blue uplighting softened the room for a relaxing and elegant mood. Reunion’s Culinary Team delighted our guests with the delectable menu and Party Flavors custom cake was the perfect ending.
